Sometimes, despite your best efforts, the damage to your veins may be too great for them to heal themselves properly. Regardless if this is from an injury or disease, you may need the services of a skilled vascular surgeon to remove these damaged veins. Vein removal is one of our specialties at Advanced Vascular Associates. With several locations throughout New Jersey, chances are you are pretty close to one of our clinics where our board-certified doctors can help you feel better.
There are several procedures available at our clinics that can help with vein removal. Our doctors are board certified in vascular medicine, making them one of the best choices for vein removal.
Some of our procedures include:
Endovenous Laser Ablation – This advanced treatment is used for the treatment of varicose veins. After the skin is numbed using a topical anesthetic, a thin tube is inserted into the vein being treated. A laser is pushed through the tube slowly to heat the vein until it collapses. Once the tube is removed, you can resume your day. The procedure takes about 20 minutes and does not leave any scars.
Sclerotherapy – This treatment is effective when treating spider veins and varicose veins. A hardening solution is injected into the veins to seal it shut, causing it to fade away after a few weeks. While more effective in treating smaller veins, larger veins can also benefit from this treatment. No downtime is needed with this procedure.
Varithena – If our doctors discover you have malfunctioning saphenous veins, this may be the treatment for you. We inject a “microfoam” into the veins that painlessly destroy the veins from the inside. There is no downtime associated with this procedure, and it can also treat nearby varicose veins. This allows us to treat both conditions at the same time without having to schedule additional procedures.
ClariVein – This procedure is also used to treat problems with saphenous veins. The vein is removed by using medication and gentle internal abrading. This degrades the vein’s inner lining and causes it to shut and eventually fade.
Ambulatory Phlebectomy – This procedure is used to remove varicose veins in the leg. Our doctor will use a small surgical hook and insert it into tiny punctures made along the vein. They will then carefully pull them out in a procedure that usually takes less than 60 minutes. You do not need to wait to resume your normal activities after this procedure. This procedure is most effective for large veins near the surface of the skin that need to be removed for aesthetic reasons or if uncomfortable symptoms have developed.
